A Walk in the Rain, Earlsferry
I wanted to do a painting from this fantastic turning circle and viewing point in Earlsferry. From here you can see along the bay to The Toft, the Granary, the Lady’s Tower and Elie light house. On the afternoon we ventured along from Elie to Earlsferry it started to rain. Undeterred by the weather we put on our wellies and each took an umbrella to keep us dry. “At least if I get the right view today, I can paint a more summery sky in the actual painting.” I thought to myself.
Once we were kitted out and walking along towards Earlsferry we started to enjoy ourselves. It wasn’t cold, just a bit rainy. It was great to get out and there were lots of puddles to splash in. When we arrived at our destination and we were all admiring the view, an enthusiastic golden retriever ran up to greet my son and immediately tucked his head up his jumper to keep dry! This walk had been fun and totally inspiring. I wasn’t going to need to paint a summery sky in this painting after all – it was perfect as it was.
